Teri Marx, PhD
Intensive Technical Assistance Lead
Dr. Teri Marx is the intensive technical assistance lead for the PROGRESS Center. Dr. Marx provides intensive technical assistance and professional development to states, districts, and schools through her work with the National Center on Intensive Intervention, the Rhode Island Intensive Math Intervention Project, and the Utah State Personnel Development Grant. Across projects, Dr. Marx collaborates with state and local administrators to help improve their systems, competencies, and practices. Prior to joining AIR, Dr. Marx earned her PhD in special education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dr. Marx began her career as a school social worker, supporting students across PK–12 settings in Title I and urban schools. Dr. Marx presents nationally on topics related to high-quality educational programming for students with disabilities, including intensive intervention, delivering specially designed instruction, and effective teaming to support students with disabilities.
