Dr. Lynn Clayton-Prince serves as Assistant Superintendent of Special Education and Equity and Diversity in Powhatan County Public Schools in Virginia. She is currently President-Elect of Virginia CASE-VCASE. Dr. Clayton-Prince has also been a Principal at the elementary and secondary level with over 25 years of experience in education. As Assistant Superintendent of Special Education and Equity & Diversity, she has been responsible for the oversight of all operations of the District’s Special Education department, including collaboration with all district departments that provide education, safety and welfare for students with and without disabilities. Dr. Prince is also adjunct professor at Longwood University teaching students in the Educational Leadership Masters program. Over the last four years Dr. Clayton-Prince has researched and become more involved in creating her division's Equity & Diversity leadership team. She is currently a Board member for Virginia Inclusive Communities Richmond Chapter, which focuses on addressing prejudice in order to improve academic achievement. Dr. Clayton-Prince has been a panelist for the Metropolitan Education Richmond Consortium (MERC) discussing her efforts of equity, diversity and inclusion for her division, and is involved in monthly chats with the EdEquity-Virginia Department of Education Equity & Diversity. Dr. Clayton-Prince has been chosen to serve on Governor Northam’s Education Task Force Committee to help guide the process of a safe and equitable reopening of schools.
