Nicolette Lesniak
Special Education Teacher

Nicolette Lesniak has been a special education teacher for over 15 years. For the last 4 years, she taught middle school students with multiple disabilities at The School Town of Munster (STM), in Northwest Indiana. She began working at the STM, when the district began to service exceptional learners outside of a former CO-OP with Lake Central Schools. Her detailed orientation and work ethic led her classroom to become a model site for Project Success, a program sponsored by the Indiana Department of Education to highlight successful special education programs. Her engagement with the program led the exceptional needs program at the STM to be recognized by the TIES Center to support the movement of students with multiple disabilities to more inclusive environments. Not only is she the Intensive Needs Teacher at Wilbur Wright Middle School, but she is also an IEP Empowerment Coach supporting parents and teachers by helping them build partnerships and improving outcomes for students. Previously she taught in the Chicagoland area.
