Dr. Carolyn Razon-Fernandez has been an educator for 15 years, beginning her instructional experience in the classroom as a special educator, and is now the Coordinator of Specialized Instruction for Baltimore City Public Schools. In this role, she supports the development and implementation of programs and best practices to improve the planning and delivery of services for students with exceptionalities. She collaborates with the Office of Teaching & Learning to build the capacity of district educators and leaders in inclusive practices, curriculum, technical assistance support and programming for students with exceptionalities. Her special interest is in early literacy, more specifically the science of reading and intervention, and she is a certified LETRS trainer for her district. Dr. Razon-Fernandez is an associate professor for the School of Education at Notre Dame of Maryland University and has presented her research on female reformers of special education programs and practices at multiple conferences across the county.
